February-April the desert comes alives with wildflower blooms, and (assuming a good rain year) one of the best places to see an amazing display is Anza Borrego State Park. Favorite areas for wildflower hikes in Anza Borrego are : Plum Canyon, Pinon & Noline Wash, Old Kane Springs Rd., Cactus Loop Trail, Mason Valley Cactus Garden, Mtn. Palm Springs/North Fork Trail, Yaqui Well Nature Trail. Best of all, they will even mail you a postcard telling you when peak bloom are expected on any given year!
