LACC Discussion List & Filmmakers
Alliance!
When
I started the LACC list way back in 1996, there weren't too many
places on the Net where LA creatives could come together, and
where people like Patrick could hook up with the kind of stuff
you need when you're a filmmaker on a budget where every hookup
makes a huge difference. Now, it's a whole different world and
everyone's online somewhere! The hundreds of names that were on
the LACC list were lost in a major server crash in June 2001.
At that time, I decided to disband the list permanently. There
is no point reinventing the wheel when there are other thriving
online filmmaking communities that cater to LA residents--and
one large united community benefits us all. Anyway, a list which
serves its community much as the LACC did, is the Filmmakers Alliance
FA-Announce list, although I also recommend that if you live in
LA, you become a member and gain access to the members only list
also, as some select opportunities are reserved for posting only
to the Filmmakers Alliance membership.
