#1 Check out the "Lost/Found Dog Resources"
http://www.caryn.com/francis/francis-search.html on this site and post
where appropriate
#2 From the "rescue area", http://www.caryn.com/francis/francis-rescue.html
contact the shelters nearest you and tell them you're looking for/have
found this dog just in case a dog matching that description turns up. I
have many shelters in many states listed, but the National sites listed
at the top list many resources by state as well. Some even have
database searches by breed and state. Check out a few of those too.
#3 Contact the appropriate "breed rescue"
http://www.caryn.com/francis/francis-rescue-breed.html If you don't see your
specific area listed--don't freak!! The people running one of these
sites should have contact info for the breed rescue organization closest
to you, and you can then contact them by phone if they're not on-line,
and alert them as to what's going on also.
#4 Post a DETAILED rescue message all relevant "Bulletin Boards,
Newsgroups and Mailing Lists"
http://www.caryn.com/francis/francis-dog-discussion.html
IMPORTANT!!
In your post, be SURE to state your location and dog's breed in the
Subject header of your message, as this will enable the people you need
help from to find you more easily.
Good luck! Auntie Caryn and I hope you find your dog or a poor dog's
missing family ASAP!
Francis
