Tsedukah: Any Time's a Time for Giving A Miracle Can Happen--But It Starts With You. If there are three things I hope that everyone (but especially Americans) have learned from the post-September 11th world events it's that 1) No matter how much our personal problems hurt us, Americans, especially American women, are fortunate to have only the problems that we do, because if we lived somewhere else, we would undoubtably have more. 2) Isolationism hurts us all. Each of us is connected to all citizens of this one world and must pay attention to events occurring outside of our own country and have compassion for those who suffer regardless of where they live and 3) Feeling bad is not enough. Complacency solves nothing. If this world is ever to be the place most people want it to be, every individual MUST commit to maintaining an open heart and to taking action to make a positive difference in the lives of others, regardless of ethnicity, religion, geographic location or any other mechanism of division. The world needs unity more than ever. One thing we all have in common, is the ability to love. Did you know that daily, in less than 5 seconds, a visitor can click on a "donate free food" button and send food to the hungry in countries like Bosnia, Lebanon, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Honduras, Mozambique, Eritrea and the United States - anywhere there's a need. To date, more than 101 million visitors have donated more than 11,000 metric tons of food (almost 200 million cups of food). The donations of staple food are paid for by The Hunger Site sponsors and distributed by America's Second Harvest and Mercy Corps. It's just a click away. And what could be more appropriate for a Jewish holiday than donating food to those without it? Take a couple of minutes to click on the links below--and we'll see you when you get back! Send this page to a couple of friends and multiply the mitvahs! Just by clicking on a link with your mouse you CAN trigger corporate donations to help: Note: Many of these charities were chosen to be featured here based on information provided by One-Click-Charity Check. If you would like more information on the charities these sites support, please visit this site to see the results of Kimberly's extensive efforts on verifying the legitimacy of each one of these charitable enterprises. Keep in mind, that some of the sites he chooses not to recommend is not because they don't do what they say with the money, but because they do not keep their website current enough so people understand what they are giving to. I have chosen to include some of these sites, despite her pass on them. And while you're there, please consider sending this girl an email thanking her. She has done a tremendous amount of work on behalf of others, and another way YOU can do a good deed is to let her know that both her intentions and her hard work are appreciated. what else can I do?
