All mints
alive and accounted for. I know have peppermint, chocolate, lemon and grapefruit
mints growing in various sections of my garden.

When a 9th century monk proclaimed he "would rather count
the sparks in Vulcan's furnace than to count the varieties of
mint," I have to wonder what varieties they had back then,
because I've just been shocked with a my own discovery of a
new variety myself! I've grown mint before, and had peppermint
already growing in the garden when I came across this chocolate
mint plant. Somewhat skeptical, I crushed a leaf, and became
a believer. So now, with this located right across from my Chocolate
Daisies, I have begun to plan how to turn this section of
the garden into a themed Chocoholics Haven by mounting a chocolate
orchid I have up on a nearby tree, thereby allowing the chocolate
scents of nature to simultaneously hit you from mutiple directions.
In only wish my Chocolate Cosmos were in this section of the
garden, but I may just have to get another because its so theme-appropriate!!
Even though this section of the garden is a work in progress,
this unusual plant is a distinctive delight in its own right,
and makes a lovely garnish for summer drinks, mixed in with
vanilla ice cream & topped with fresh berries for a lovely
summer dessert, or even as addition to stir fries. If you decide
to grow mint, be forewarned. It can get a bit invasive so be
sure to keep it cut back and watch for the runners and soloists
that will pop up on their own accord in any nearby crevices
etc.
