Hibiscus

More Fine Art Photography & Digital Art

When we first got this plant, it seemed to take care of itself. Then, after it had been there for a while, I was introduced to what a serious aphid problem looks like. For those of you who have not ever experienced this, let me tell you. Not a pretty picture. Apparently, aphids just love to suck on hibiscus buds. Well, tough luck for them. Out came the Pyola. Started watering the plant more than I was, and the plant really as thrived in it sunny location ever since. and the aphids...well, I guess they learned their lesson. Because while they've shown up on many of the other plants this year, they have stayed away from this one. Eventually I would like to make hibiscus tea with my own ingedients, but for now, I've just been enjoying looking at the bright orange aphid-free blooms that are right in my sightline right when I walk out my front door.
