2002
This
plant was a late addition to our garden, added when our neighbor
Paul came by and said he had a few extra plants, and by the
way, did we want some? The tags on this plant did not do it
justice in terms of the soft look of the flowers, nor did it
provide a true sense of the size this plant can get to if placed
in an extra sunny location. I had originally planted 2 of these
plants in a med-large trashcan we have, thinking that it would
look empty with just one little plant in there, but in retrospect,
no way could two of those plants have been in there together.
Even just the one shot up and spread out, with loads of branches
filled with just tons of those beautiful purple flowers. One
of the other Malope plants he gave us has white flowers, and
even though that plant did not get even close to as big as the
pruple one did, it still looks nice in its spot, providing a
nice contrast to the nearby Kangaroo Paw and Penstemon...
