Scorpion
Bowl
A
festive luau drink, the Scorpion bowl is one Hawaiian cocktail
recipe designed especially to be a luau party drink! A
product of the fantasy tropical drinks explosion of the
late 1940s, the tiki bowl is a generic name for any vessel
meant to encompass any of several tiki libations, most
notably the Scorpion, which ws originally served in a bowl
for two, with straws. Styling was colorful and adventurous,
so in lieu of a bowl, use large festive glass and you'll
be in the spirit of this tiki drink. Orgeat syrup is a
sweet syrup made from almonds, sugar and rose water/orange-flower
water. Originally made with a barley-almond blend, it has
a distinct almond taste and is used to flavor many cocktails. Orgeat
syrup can be hard to find, but you can order
it online,
or it can be found in some stores that sell coffee syrups/flavorings.
If you cannot find it, use almond syrup as a substitute.
