While
the Amish may forgo a Christmas tree, holiday baking is certainly
part of the holiday celebrations. Amish
Christmas traditions are nothing if not simple,
and not surprisingly, this
old Amish Christmas cookie recipe is a very easy cookie recipe
to make.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease cookie sheets.
Cream
butter and sugar. Blend in molasses and eggs.
Sift dry ingredients together and stir into molasses-egg mixture.
Roll dough out on a lightly floured board and cut into shapes
with cookie cutters. Bake on greased cookie sheets for 10
to 12 minutes.
