Chocolate
Ganache Icing
This
chocolate cake icing recipe is from Martha Stewart. Although
of course this easy chocolate icing can be used as a homemade
cake icing for any cake, this particular choclate ganache
icing recipe is included here as a chocolate frosting recipe
for the Buche
de Noel Recipe (French Yule Log Cake). If you want
a sweeter chocolate frosting to use for a different chocolate
cake recipe, just use sweeter chocolate, but this gives
you the basics on how to make homemade chocolate frosting
from scratch.
Chop
chocolate into small pieces, and place in a medium bowl.
Heat cream until bubbles begin to appear around
the edges (scalding); pour over chocolate.
Let stand 5 minutes,
then stir until smooth. Refrigerate until cold but not solid,
stirring occasionally.
