Mix dry ingredients for 2 minutes

Add all liquids and mix until dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix.

Royal Icing
for Gingerbread Houses

Sift powdered sugar and cream of tartar and place in mixing bowl with paddle.

Add egg whites and lemon juice. Mix for about two minutes. Wrap in cheesecloth and plastic wrap until ready to use.

12 oz. Butter or Vegetable Shortening
1 oz. Baking Soda
2 oz. Molasses
1 oz. Salt
1 oz. Ginger
1 oz. Cinnamon
2 lbs. 10 oz. Cake Flour
6 Eggs

Icing

1 pt. Egg Whites
3 lbs. Powdered Sugar
1 Tsp. Cream of Tartar
juice from 1 Lemon
