it's a crap shoot, to some extent. But you can help!
What's This All About? Getting the job interview is half of an actor's job. Based on time constraints, the casting people can only call in a fraction of the people submitted for any role and since time is so limited, they have a tendency to call in the same people over and over again, figuring that what worked once will work another time. So it is hard for newer people to get seen, or even be remembered by someone they have met, but never been hired by yet. One of the main ways actors try to ignite the interest of casting directors and producers in their work is to send them postcards announcing upcoming roles, new agents etc. Ideally, you'd like to be on their minds at all times, without being perceived as an annoyance. Mailing a headshot every week, or even every month is expensive and likely to perceived as excessive, and righfully so. and creative goes a long way toward being remembered. To that end, I have come up with an idea to serve my purpose and theirs at the same time. The response I've gotten from this site has been enormous--tons of letters and support from people saying they'd love to see me in something--so I figured, Why not start a list of all the people who want to see me in something? Then, every so often, I'll mail out postcards telling casting people and producers how many of their show's viewers have put their names to this list, or in the case of a film, how many people have said they would show up to see me in a movie. You've seen (or can see) my photos, resume, video clips etc, as well as hints of my personality if you've read anything I've written or gone though my links areas... So,
