Tree of Life Necklace

Deeply mystical in many cultures, the Tree of Life is thought to bring together the 10 creative forces that intervene between the infinite and our world — from wisdom and understanding to strength and glory. Ours is artfully interpreted in sterling silver and 10 semiprecious stones, representing the color of each creative force: onyx, tiger's eye, moonstone, garnet, iolite, amethyst, citrine, peridot, labradorite and pink tourmaline. Strung on an 18"L sterling box chain.

Kabbalah

Mysticism has been a part of Judaism for centuries; in fact, some believe that Jesus performed his miracles using kabbalistic techniques he learned from the Essenes, a Jewish mystical sect he is believed to have spent time studying with. But the Jewish mystical tradition of Kabbalah has only recently entered the sphere of non-Orthodox Jews, whose Reform and Conservative congregations teach little of this aspect of Judaism. Fundamental concepts of kabbalistic thought include the concept of G-d as Ein Sof (a force with no end, beginning or boundaries of time or space), and the Ten Sefirot, which are represented as circles on the often seen diagram known as the tree of life, and which correspond to chakras and energy centers of the human body. Jewish Meditation: A Practical Guide

Kaplan shows that meditation is consistent with traditional Jewish thought and practice. The book presents a variety of meditative techniques such as mantra meditation (with suggested phrases and Bible verses to use as mantras); contemplation; visualization; experiencing nothingness (not recommended for beginners); conversing with God; and prayer, to help make the reader a better person, and develop a closer relationship to God.
