What makes these recipes so different, anyway? And do you have to be, like... some super-whiz chef or something like that to be able to make them?

answer:

All recipes on this site have been chosen for their use of fresh, whole food, healthy ingredients. Some have been slightly amended from the original versions based on my own kitchen experiences either to enhance flavor or lower the fat content of the recipe.

Most of the recipes here are relatively easy to make, and make a colorful splash when put on the table. Sure, I'm a really good cook. Mom was a gourmet cook so I was spoiled growing up, and pretty much had to learn how to cook really well once I moved out of her house, just to keep myself in the standard of eating to which I had grown accustomed! So I am fully capable of making stuff that's incredibly hard, but who has the time--not me, that's for sure! So most recipes that end up on my site as one of my favorites will be outstanding in terms of flavor, but not too time consuming to prepare, although of course, keep in mind that as a general rule, holiday meals require a little extra in terms of effort. Kitchen magic can only go so far...
