Low-Carb
Trick-or-Treat Ideas

It's not easy keeping carbs and sugar in check for yourself, let alone keeping
close tabs on what gets ingested by your youngsters. So this year, why
give more sugar laden treats out to the neighborhood kids when you know for
sure that tonight, of all nights, they will get more than enough candy and
sweets to last for a month at least!
Are you sure, you ask? Halloween without candy? Believe me, it can be done, and
a sugar free Halloween might not even be as gruesome as you might think!
Try some of these tasty, nutritious, low-carb, sugar free and sure-to please
ideas:
- Single-serving packets of peanuts, cashews or mixed nuts.
- Individually-wrapped string cheese snacks
- Party favors
- Small boxes of crayons,
pencils with fun erasers, or multicolor writing pens
- Beef or Turkey Jerky. My husband loves the Shelton's Turkey Jerky that
you can get at Whole Foods, that's hormone and antibiotic free!
- Sugar-free gum--lasts
a lot longer than a piece of candy!
- And finally, if you
just can't bear the thought of leaving candy completely out of the Halloween
picture, buy bags of sugar free hard candy or better still, really good
chocolates!
