Sex Enhancers & Pheremones
The
Kama Sutra was composed in Sanskrit, the ancient language of India,
around the second century BC by Vatsyayana. It is the oldest existing
textbook of erotic love. This ancient book has seven chapters; the
seventh has recipes with spices and herbs. Thought to have been written
in the fourth century AD, it was translated in the 19th century but
did not receive popular mass attention in the West in the 1960s.
Readers were astounded by the elaborate and complicated sexual positions
described in its pages and by the bold uncensored approach that it
took towards the subject of sex. In particular the Kama Sutra addressed
the importance of a woman's sexual happiness and potential for pleasure,
ecstasy and transformation. The pursuit of Kama, or the sensual and sexual pleasures of life,
was not viewed as decadent indulgences; it was one of the three principal
goals of life through which a person could attain the fourth and
ultimate goal, Moksha, which is the liberation of the mind and spirit.
The
items on these pages bring the essences of this ancient book to you.

The Illustrated Kama Sutra : Ananga-Ranga and Perfumed Garden
- The Classic Eastern Love
As
an expression of human culture, and as a pillow book for the
modern boudoir, the Kama Sutra of Vatsyayana remains the most
famous work on sex ever written. The Ananga-Ranga of Kalyana
Malla, and Sheikh Nefzai's Perfumed Garden, set forth the principles
of sensual pleasure with poetry, wisdom, and humor, celebrating
love as an ecstatic expression of life's beauty. Sir Burton,
who is well known as the translator of The 1001 Arabian Nights,
condensed these three ancient love manuals of India into one
book, with unabashedly erotic texts and color illustrations from
India, offering specific suggestions, such as how to "Milita" kiss
(the after-fight reconciliation kiss) as well as how to link
a former life into current lovemaking. |

Kama Sutra for Women
The Women's Kama Sutra focuses on the issues of sensuality and
sexuality detailed by the sage Vatsayana but looks at them from
a feminine perspective in ways that are relevant to the contemporary
woman. Sensitive text and more than 40 specially commissioned
illustrations of exciting lovemaking positions bring ancient
wisdom into a modern context. It includes the Kama Sutra's teachings
on pleasure, sensuality and love, sexual compatibility, the importance
of physical affection, transcendental sexuality and the Kama
Sutra arts of love.

The Complete Kama Sutra: The First Unabridged Modern Translation
of the Classic Indian Text
This definitive volume is the first modern translation of Vatsyayana's
Kama Sutra to include two essential commentaries: the Jayamangala
of Yashodhara and the modern Hindi commentary by Devadatta Shastri.
Alain Danilou spent four years comparing versions of the Kama Sutra
in Sanskrit, Hindi, Bengali, and English, drawing on his intimate
experience of India, to preserve the full explicitness of the original. |
