had a lot of fun with this one! Took a poll of about 150
of my friends and family members asking what their votes were for best
makeout music. Ages ranged from 20's-60's, varied approaches to life
and careers, some professional rock and jazz musicians, some just huge
music fans. Got some good song suggestions, ranging from Prom Theme
specials like "The Way You Look Tonight" to Lay Lady Lay and
Bonnie
Raitt's Luck of the Draw.
One of my best friends wrote in to suggest "You've Lost That Loving
Feelin' " or "I Will Survive" then wrote back with the
additional suggestion of Guns and Roses, citing the specific line- "Used
to love her but I had to kill her." Oddly enough, she's not a bitter
woman. She's happily married to a real sweetie and while it would be
easy to just blame it on the hormones of pregnancy running rampant in
her body even as she emailed me, I know too much of what goes on in
that twisted mind of hers to write it off so easy. : ) Still, I wanted
to see if there would be some kind of consensus when it came to full
albums/CDs. And there was, sort of. At least for some things. I had
one friend beg off answering claiming it had been far too long since
a last romantic encounter to even retain such a memory. I had quite
a few friends harken back to answers of their college years when the
good times and the music seemed inexorably intertwined. So here are
the results: musical suggestions to help you set the mood for romance.
We'll leave the rest to you.
